Hearts Afire Facts
- Hearts Afire is built on the experience of 7 years of missions and over twenty trips
- The organization incorporated in April 2006 and 501(c)3 status was approved 2/9/07
- Mission – to promote the physical and spiritual development of individuals, both internationally and domestically, through the advancement of medical and evangelical education and outreach
Hearts Afire has three (3) Foundational Pillars:
- Medical Outreach Missions
- Evangelical Crusades/ Family Missions
- Children’s Christian Summer Camp Scholarship program

- Hearts Afire has provided medical care for more than 12,854 individuals in many different countries, including the Dominican Republic, Peru and Ghana
- Hearts Afire has seen over 4685 people around the world commit their life to Christ, and has witnessed multiple healing miracles
- Hearts Afire has provided Summer Camp Scholarships to 61 children
- Hearts Afire is well connected with the medical community with over 2000 health care professional contacts and other high profile organizations
- The Founders of Hearts Afire are preceptors for Florida’s leading Universities, including:
- University of South Florida School of Public Health and College of Medicine
- University of Florida School of Pharmacy
- Florida State University School of Medicine
- Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Well over 2000 physicians are within our contact sphere, from Sarasota County, the universities we are affiliated with, and the countries in which we serve
- We have contacts with over 200 pastors and church directors around the world
- Dr. Joe Pecoraro has participated in multiple evangelical speaking engagements, and Dr. Vega is a member of the Medical Speaker’s Bureau, both of which provide high visibility for our organization. They are also well established in highly respected practices within the Sarasota/Bradenton community for well over 10 years.
